Corporate RelationsExplanations regarding placements
We offer students two types of placements. Mandatory placement
As an integral part of the course, the work carried out while on a mandatory placement essentially fulfils the function of training. The placement envisaged as part of the course programme is organised and monitored by the University of Luxembourg.
From a contractual point of view, a legal connection is established between the placement student, the university and the employer on the basis of the placement agreement (shift model). This agreement is signed by the student, the academic staff member responsible (or director of studies) and the professional responsible (or the placement manager within the organisation). Voluntary placement during the vacationThis type of placement does not form an integral part of the training. However, an agreement is drawn up between the placement student, the university and the employer to the extent that the student trainee meets the criteria of Volume 1 Section V of the Labour Act (code du travail), that is to say that he/she is considered to be a pupil or student in accordance with the Act:
This agreement is signed by the student, the academic staff member responsible (or director of studies) and the professional responsible. Finding suitable candidatesIf you are looking for student trainees, please download this "Traineeship offer form" and send it filled by e-mail to fdef-traineeships@uni.lu . The information will then be forwarded to the students concerned. What is the role of the professional responsible (or placement manager)? The professional responsible (or placement manager) plays a key role in the practical experience of students on placements. The role encompasses integration, training/supervision and assessment of the placement student.
