Achim Seifert is Associate Professor of European and International Labor Law at the University of Luxembourg. Born in 1968 in Germany, he was raised in Wiesbaden and studied Law and Philosophy at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt/Germany as well as at the University of Paris X (Nanterre). He holds both German State Examinations in Law, a Doctorate in Law (Frankfurt, Germany 1998) as well as a postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) in labor law, civil law, European law, economic law, and comparative law from Frankfurt’s Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University (2006). His habilitation thesis was rewarded the Baker & McKenzie-Prize for best thesis in economic law that same year.

Before joining the University of Luxembourg, he was Associate Professor (Privatdozent) for Labor Law and Civil Law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University (April 2007–September 2007) and at University of Trier (October 2007–September 2008). He has been invited as Visiting Professor to the University Bordeaux IV – Montesquieu as well as to the University of Nantes and has given lectures and keynotes in numerous universities in Europe, the United States, and South Africa.
