History
In 2005, several professors have joined their activities to the one of the Software Engineering Competence Center (SE2C). Our research is focused on five research themes:
- ABS: AmBient Systems
- ADS: Architectures for Dependable Distributed Systems
- ELS: E-Learning Systems
- MDE: Model-Driven Engineering
- ICS: Industry-Critical Systems
The Laboratory name: LASSY for Laboratory for Advanced Software Systems reflects these research activities.
The SE2C, precursor of the LASSY, was founded in march 1999 at the Department of Applied Computer Science of the Luxembourg University of Applied Sciences.
It had the following objectives:
- To develop fundamental and applied research in the field of software engineering in close collaboration with the Software Engineering Laboratory of the Henri Tudor public research center
- And to manage the 4th year of our study program which included an engineering degree specialised in software engineering
Later, in october 2003, the SE2C was integrated into the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication as a result of the creation of the University of Luxembourg . In 2005 it was recognized as a cost center of the university and it has been merged with a few other teams.
