How does globalisation influence and shape the role and meaning of architecture? How can architects deal with the process of urbanisation? And what tools do they need to face the new challenges of a globalised and increasingly urbanised world?
The Master in Architecture emphasises strategic aspects of architectural and urban design. The interdisciplinary programme aims at developing new knowledge by conducting scientific research on architecture and urbanisation and experimental research by design. Students will be educated to think and act strategically and future-oriented.The Master in Architecture prepares students for a career in the private sector, in an administration or as a PhD student in the academic world.
The degree is unique as it focuses on:
- Architecture as a creative discipline including technical, constructive, social, political and artistic aspects
- The role of architecture and urban design in the context of European urbanisation
- The challenge of globalisation for architecture and its impact on cities and regions
