Dr. Agata Capik has joined the Centre for European Law at the Faculty of Law Economics and Finance in August 2007. Her research concentrates on the preliminary ruling procedure before the ECJ and the patent protection system in the European Community.
Agata is graduated the Faculty of Law, Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland, 1997) as well as of the European Integration Faculty, Donau University in Krems (Austria, 1999). Later she completed the Executive Programm of European and International Business Law at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland, 2006). Subsequently Agata obtained her PhD from Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg (Germany, 2007).
Agata’s professional experience covers both practical and academic environments. Her previous engagements include, inter alia, EFTA-Court, Europa-Institut Saarbrücken, Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MVV Energie AG, Legal Department Mannheim and White & Case, Law Firm, Frankfurt/Main, Germany. She is an author and co-author of several books and other contributions on European Union Law, especially European jurisdiction, procedure before the Community courts and community institutional law.
