Born 1979 in Liège (Belgium). Laurent KARLSHAUSEN is since September 2009 assistant at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance from the University of Luxemburg. He's in charge of some tutorials in private civil law for the Bachelor students.

Laurent KARLSHAUSEN graduated in 2003 with the law degree form the University of Liège. He carried on his Studies with a Master in German civil law Magister der Rechtsvergleichung LLM), for which he graduated in 2006 with the note "cum laude" for his thesis about a comparative laws study of the compensation of the material damage.

From 2006 till 2009 he has achivied the traineeship at the Belgian's bar and worked as Junior Lawyer in an insurrance and torts Lawyer Office.

He's now working on a Phd dissertation about the legal aspects of the self production of energy, under the supervision of Prof. David HIEZ.
