Research Facilities
The EMACS Research Unit manages two Research Facilities: the Usability Lab and the CNS, the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory. Both are located at the Campus Walferdange of the University of Luxembourg.
CNS Lab
Research in the CNS Labatory aims at better understanding cognitive processes like number processing, working memory and attention.
We investigate the behavior and neural mechanisms underlying these processes both in young adults and over life span (i.e. from childhood over adolescence to adulthood and old age). We use computer-based behavioral tests as well as electro-encephalography and event-related potentials (ERPs) to pursue our research goals. More punctually we also run functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies in collaboration with the Maastricht Brain Imaging Centre (http://mbic.unimaas.nl).
Our laboratory facilities are located on the Campus Walferdange in the basement floor (-1) of building VI.

Usability Lab
Amongst the Usability & Behavioral Studies Research Area Group, the scientific lead and management of the usability laboratory takes an important place. This compromises tasks like: developing research methodologies tailor-made for specific projects' needs and supporting researches from other domains wishing to rely on this labatory as a tool for their projects.
We also support UL-internal activities and projects run with external partners; making the lab evolve in order to maintain state-of-the-art capabilities regarding technical requirements, promoting the added value of a human-centered methodologies by organising conferences and attending colloquia.
