Objectives

The IPSE Research Unit concerns itself with relevant social issues and developments in a socio-cultural, historical, political, spatial and linguistic perspective. The disciplines represented in the unit are Arts, Gender Studies, Geography and Spatial Planning, History, German, French and Luxembourgish Language and Literature, Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology. Identities and socio-cultural identity constructions constitute a common research focus combining all of the disciplines represented in IPSE.

IDENT2 – Strategies of Regionalisation: Constructing Identity Across Borders is an interdisciplinary research project which is financed by the University of Luxembourg and bringing together researchers from all IPSE disciplines. Un common research focus constitutes identity constructions which has been analyzed in the framework of the IDENT project (2007-2010). The results of this project are currently developped in the framework of the follow-up project IDENT2 (2011-2014).
