Since 2009, Christian Happ works as project researcher within the research unit INSIDE (INtegrative research unit on Social and Individual DEvelopment). He is currently working in the project PREVAMI (PREventing Violence and Aggressive behavior in children and adolescents using interactive Media Instruments: An international research project). Christian Happ is a PhD student at the University of Marburg, supervised by Prof. Ulrich Wagner and Prof. Georges Steffgen. His PhD thesis focuses on the role of empathy in the media context, or in video games, more specifically.

He studied Psychology at the Universities of Marburg and Stellenbosch and holds a Bachelor Honors Degree (2007) and a Diploma in Psychology (2009). The title of his diploma thesis is: “The Lost Race – A Coloured Prejudice–Check in Modern South Africa.”

His research interests lie in the following domains:
