Elisabeth Bourkel is a PhD student and assistant under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dieter Ferring within the Research Unit INSIDE since May 2010. In 2009 she completed her diploma studies in psychology with a major in clinical psychology at the University of Vienna in Austria. The title of the diploma thesis was: “Wahrgenommene Rechte und Stigmatisierung von Menschen mit Alzheimer Demenz” [Perceived rights and stigmatisation of people with Alzheimer’s disease]. From June 2009 to April 2010 she took part in a postgraduate training in clinical and health psychology. The practical part of the training was completed in “Geriatriezentrum am Wiener Wald” (geriatric centre) in Vienna, Austria.
In her dissertation project she focuses on intercultural competence in the health context.
