Jean Claude Zeimet is a PhD student and junior researcher under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Helmut Willems within the Research Unit INSIDE since September 2009. His PhD thesis on youth (sub)cultures in Luxembourg focuses on similarities between LAN-gaming, Parkour and Techno. The qualitative heuristic study targets two main subjects, first the structure of youth (sub)cultures and second the commitment and the motivation of active participants of these youth (sub)cultures.
As a graduate in pedagogy from the University of Hildesheim, Germany, he practiced for ten years in different pedagogical domains in Germany and Luxembourg, e.g. psychiatric and pedagogical home care, and student mentoring. In parallel to his practical work, various trainings on the job and youth work experience have further deepened his knowledge and insights.
