Jean-Jacques Weber is Professor of English and Education at the University of Luxembourg. He graduated at the University of Lancaster, where he was awarded a First Class Honours degree in English. He has a PhD in English from the University of Leuven (Belgium). His main research interests are discourse analysis, stylistics, as well as the study of language and education in multilingual and multicultural contexts. Most of his earlier publications are in the area of pedagogical and literary stylistics. A few years ago, he joined the LCMI research group and since then his publications have focused primarily on issues of multilingualism and education, language policy and globalization, as well as language use in urban neighbourhoods. He also supervises PhD students and teaches courses in these areas, thus contributing to a range of programmes including the English Studies programme, the BA in Economics, as well as the MA in Learning and Development in Multilingual and Multicultural Contexts. He is a member of the editorial boards of the academic journal Language and Literature (edited by K. Wales and P. Simpson, and published by Sage) and of the book series Linguistic Approaches to Literature (edited by W. van Peer, G. Steen and P. Verdonk, and published by Benjamins).
