Since 06/2011 Mariya Markova is a research assistant and Ph.D. candidate (advisor: Prof. Sabine Krolak-Schwerdt) in the project: TRANSINTER - School transitions from primary to secondary school: Development of intervention strategies to improve the quality of teachers’ transition decisions (funded by FNR). Mariya Markova graduated in Psychology at the Free University Berlin (Germany) in 2009, the topic of her final thesis was “Social support and workplace related anxieties”. During her studies she was occupied within different research projects and participated in trainings on anti-discrimination and empowerment. She is actively involved in peer education and participation as a diversity trainer since 2007. After her graduation she worked in the field of youth non-formal education and volunteer services for NGOs in Luxembourg and Germany. At LCMI she will be researching the process of teachers’ transition decisions and recommendations from primary to secondary school.
