Research topics:  first language acquisition, construction grammar, Persian linguistics, verbal semantics

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Neiloufar Family studied Linguistics as an undergraduate student at Boston University. She continued her research on language within a cognitive linguistic framework as a graduate student in Cognitive Science at EHESS, Paris. Her masters and PhD research focused on the semantic organization of verbs in Persian. She provides an original approach to the study of the problem of complex verb constructions in Persian. She has contributed a substantial corpus of child acquisition data which she recorded and transcribed over a one year period with native Persian speaking children.

Neiloufar Family joined the FUNDENG project as a postdoctoral researcher in October 2010. The project aims at mapping and analyzing the acquisition of English as a lingua franca by primary school children in Luxembourg.
