Institutional development of the Mediation Centre
Le développement institutionnel du Centre de médiation
This evaluation project was divided into two parts: after an analysis of the internal structure of the
Mediation Centre, the client asked for an extension of the evaluation with the aim of contextualising
the results of the internal analysis within the framework of the social, legal and economic systems
of Luxembourg.
Part I: Analysis of the internal structure of the Mediation Centre
Duration:
from October 2004 to May 2006
Description:
The Mediation Centre has changed a lot since its foundation in 1998. The evaluation
was requested in order to help decision-makers redefine the centre and to outline the characteristics
and focus of the organisation. The aim of the evaluation was to collect data of the working process
and mediation methods used by the personnel working for the organisation. The goal of the
evaluation was to support organisational development.
Part II: Contextualisation of the results of the internal analysis within the framework of
social, legal and economic systems in Luxembourg
Duration:
from June 2006 to December 2006
Description:
The aim of the extension of the evaluation project was to contextualise the results
concerning the specific characteristics of the Mediation Centre and compare these results with the
data collected from social workers, jurists and persons working for other organisations which offer
mediation services in Luxembourg. This comparison showed agreements and differences in the
way the identity (mission, mediation work, future missions, etc.) of the Mediation Centre was
perceived. The final report is a synthesis of part I and II.
