Current research projects/interests:
- Regulation of microRNA expression by transcription factors: relevance for cancer development (melanoma). Investigation and description of a complete regulatory line of events starting with cytokine stimulations of different cancer cells → STAT induction → identification of STAT-regulated miRNAs → identification and analysis of miRNA target genes → functional role of target genes in cancer.
- Identification and investigation of miRNAs as potential biomarkers for cancer (melanoma) development and progression.
- Jak/STAT signaling in melanoma cells.
