Detection of research results having a valorisation potential

The valorisation potential of innovative results could be detected by the researchers themselves. The University of Luxembourg could also organise detection meetings between an expert specialised in the valorisation process and the researchers in order to highlight the valorisation potential of an innovative result.

As regard to the specific issue of inventions, a statement process which could be summarized as follows is organised at the University of Luxembourg.

Step 1  : The researcher shall complete a Form A, a short document considered as the initial invention statement. This document will give a broad view of the invention and the framework of the discovery.

Step 2  : If the information contained in Form A are relevant, the Legal Affairs will ask the researcher to complete a Form B. This document gives a complete view of the invention and will be used, with other elements such as precedence study, for taking the decision to proceed or not with a patent application.

 > In order to obtain these forms, please contact the Legal Affairs  .
