3rd Future Internet Summit organized in Finland
|
TIVIT and SnT will jointly organise the high-class international event on 31.05.-01.06.2012 in Dipoli, Espoo, Finland. The 2012 special focus is: Towards Future Internet International Collaboration. After the two very successful editions in 2009 and 2010 organised by SnT, it is a great pleasure to jointly carry out the 3rd European Summit on the Future Internet. The programme as it is being conceived will represent a unique opportunity to understand the future ahead and confront your views with those of a carefully selected panel of extraordinary speakers. Since its inception the Internet has gradually become a powerful vector for individual empowerment and free expression while being a source and vehicle for change and innovation of the economy. Knowledge, which was previously denied to all but a rare few, is instantly available to the most remote place on earth. A first truly global infrastructure at the service of all has emerged. As it evolves and enters a new phase of development, questions are being asked as to the breadth and likely scope of its evolution. Which will be the most pertinent architecture and technological innovations allowing for mutually beneficial, productive and collaborative relationships between people, enterprises, and governments? How to ensure a much greater and robust level of cyber-security? How to re-establish trust? How to anticipate and plan for a potentially catastrophic service or infrastructure breakdown? Will stronger antitrust regulations be required? How to conciliate the existent nationally or regionally bounded regulatory frameworks with a boundless space where data privacy is not respected, where content is not protected by copyright, where intellectual property rights are ignored. Which actions need to be envisaged to ensure that organisations will not be totally bypassed in their management capacity, by the sheer scale and complexity of an infrastructure of communicating objects? Beyond such immediate questions, it is equally necessary to grasp how the increasing flood of data will be exploited and in particular which serious personal risks will such exploitation entail. Enterprises will have the means to personalise their marketing with unprecedented levels of accuracy. Governments will use predictive analytical tools that will allow them to anticipate the future namely to predict political unrest, disease outbreaks, resource shortages, or economic instability. The Summit will gather approximately 200 leading business developers, academia and research institute representatives as well as high-level policy-makers from Europe, Asia and Finland. Please mark this event to your calendar. Registration will start on the 2nd of January 2012 and you will find more information about this event already in December: Joint us in Dipoli, Espoo on 31.5.-1.6.2012 and contribute to inventing the Future Internet.!
