Leaving San Francisco, Joining SnT

SnT is delighted to welcome Georges Schmit as a Research Fellow, where he’ll join Marc Lemmer, Jean Schweitzer, and Karl Johannesson at the Technology Transfer Office (TTO).
Georges most recently served as Consul Generate of Luxembourg and Executive Director of the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in San Francisco. His experience with innovation and technology policy, economic development and trade and investment promotion will make him fit right in at the TTO.
Among his many accomplishments, he recently contributed to the design and launch of several major Luxembourg Government innovation policy initiatives including the Financial Technologies (FinTech) Promotion Initiative and the SpaceResources.lu initiative aiming at the commercial exploration of Asteroids.
Georges Schmit will draw on his extensive expertise to help position SnT as a key R&D player in Luxembourg, identify and attract new partners, and bolster SnT’s strategy.
Georges Schmit can be seen roaming the corridors of SnT from 20 March 2017. Besides his native Luxembourgish, he is fluent in French, English and German.
