The PhD projects targets at analyzing crosscutting concerns in the web services integration. It uses the knowledge of workflow languages and aspect-oriented technology to achieve/understand crosscutting concerns such as security, authentication in business process modelling. According to the previous research, it will try to give a proof of concept in a demonstrator defined and developed in close collaboration with the industrial partner EPT. For industry side, applying the aspect-oriented paradigm to workflow languages can greatly simplify the business process model, improve the development efficiency, and thus make the system more agile to the ever charging demand of the market. For academic side, business process modelling and aspect-oriented paradigm are both very popular research areas, a further exploration of combining both of them and applying the result to solve the high demanding industry problems provide a good use case to identify the advantage and drawbacks of both the technologies.
