In a first step the PhD student should elaborate a state of the art of the research areas he is working in. In a second step he or she should create models of security sensors and propose various solutions for collecting security relevant information using security sensors. Furthermore solutions regarding the following points should be found, identification of security relevant information, algorithms and techniques for collecting security relevant information, management techniques of collected security relevant information, event correlations and security monitoring, management techniques of security sensors. The project can be validated using the next three approaches:
- Analytical modeling can be used to identify theoretical limits.
- Implementation and practical evaluation can be used to test the solutions in a real world networks
- Simulation of the proposals can be used for testing the solutions in different networks.
