Master en droit économique européen - LL.M. (académique)

Second year (semesters 3 & 4) : Specialisation in European Litigation

The specialisation in European Litigation  is a top-level programme teaching EU law from the point of view of European Litigation. The programme is organised in cooperation with the Institut Universitaire International du Luxembourg and in partnership with the University of Nancy 2 and the University of Strasbourg. Students will be awarded a Master degree from both the University of Luxembourg and the Universities of Nancy 2 and Strasbourg.

Taught by a highly qualified team

The programme is taught by a Faculty of unmatched expertise composed of Judges and Advocates Generals from the European Court of Justice, the General Court, as well as specialised and internationally renowned academics from various universities and institutions. With the help of a highly effective mixture of teaching techniques, the course emphasises the fundamental elements, the procedures and principles of litigation at the European Court of Justice and the General Court and the rules of Community law to which the national Courts are subject.

A programme with multiple facets

The specialisation is taught in two semesters, each with a slightly different focus.

  • The first semester addresses more general aspects of EU law, litigation as well as general principles and fundamental rights. Each module is sub-divided into several courses, each one taught by a leading expert in the field.
  • The second semester is organised in the form of seminars. Students choose three topics in which they will write a paper which will be discussed in class with a specialist in the matter. The second semester ends with a two months internship, for example at the European Court of Justice, the General Court, the European Commission or a specialised law firm. (+ infos)
