Visite du chantier des hauts fourneaux
Le Fonds Belval vous invite à découvrir le projet de conservation des hauts fourneaux à travers une visite de chantier précédée d’une présentation détaillée du concept le samedi 22 octobre 2011 à 11h et à 14h .
Durée de la visite environ 2 heures. En français, sans inscription. Rendez-vous au bâtiment massenoire, avenue du Rock 'n' Roll (face à la Rockhal) à Belval
L’exposition sur la Cité des Sciences est ouverte du mercredi au vendredi 12h00 - 19h00, le samedi de 10h00 - 18h00 et le dimanche de 14h00 - 18h00. Entrée libre.

Biomedicine Gala with Ranga Yogeshwar
For the first time, a group of researchers will begin the new university year in the "Cité des Sciences". The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine of the University of Luxembourg has moved to the former brownfield site in Esch-Belval and is officially inaugurating its new building, the House of Biomedicine, on September 26. A few tickets for the Gala are still available for our readers!
In the evening, from 7.45 pm on, a Biomedicine Gala will be moderated by the famous Luxembourgish science journalist and moderator Ranga Yogeshwar. The talk-show guests will be Minister Krecké, Minister Di Bartolomeo, the president of the university, Rolf Tarrach, Leroy Hood, Director of the Institute for Systems Biology, USA, 'Mr. Science' from RTL and Rudi Balling, Director of the LCSB.

Exhibit : Discover the "Cité des Sciences" on Belval
A new exhibit organised by the “Fonds Belval” has been opened to the public in the historic work hall named “La masse noire / The black mass”. The exhibit is a documentation centre about the future university campus on Belval. Visitors can take a look on a big model, use various interactive multimedia stations and watch films to get extensive information about the various construction projects on Belval.
Opening hours: Wednesday-Friday: 12h-19h Saturday: 10h-18h. Sunday: 14-18h. Guided tours on request. Free entry.

Premier livre sur l’histoire du site de Belval
Agora, société de développement associant l'entreprise sidérurgique Arcelor et l'État, et l’Université du Luxembourg ont présenté le premier livre sur les défis et réalisations passés, présents et futurs du site de Belval qui vient d'apparaître aux Editions le Phare.
Denis Scuto, chargé de cours à l’Université du Luxembourg, et Christophe Knebeler, conseiller politique auprès du LCGB et ancien élève à l’Université, ont publié ce livre intitulé « Belval : Passé, présent et avenir d’un site luxembourgeois exceptionnel (1911-2011) ».
Les Hauts Fourneaux d’Arbed Esch-Belval se sont arrêtés le 28 août 1997. Avec le passage de la filière fonte à la filière électrique, la sidérurgie luxembourgeoise a ouvert un nouveau chapitre de sa longue histoire. Heureusement, ce site exceptionnel, imprégné par la Terrasse des Hauts Fourneaux, a été protégé car il nous raconte une grande épopée, un brassage inédit d’hommes, de savoir-faire, de technologies, de capitaux, qui ont marqué la nation, la population et le paysage du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg.
Le 30 octobre 1911, le premier des six hauts fourneaux de Belval fut mis en service. Pour l’année du centenaire de l’usine, ce livre offre pour la première fois un aperçu général de l’histoire du site de Belval, de ses défis et réalisations passés, présents et à venir.
