CollectionsThe University of Luxembourg Library (known by the French acronym "BUL") places at the disposal of the university community documentary resources that are useful for teaching and research, in particular a collection of more than 220,000 volumes , and nearly 1000 subscriptions to scientific and scholarly periodicals on paper format. The BUL contains collections that cover different areas of knowledge. It pays particular attention to supporting an inter-disciplinary approach and multilingualism in building up the collections. These collections are further enhanced by 215 bibliographical or content databases, 38’000 periodicals and 40'000 ebooks available online through the "Findit.lu" portal. The BUL manages its collections according to the Collection Development Policy . “The collection development policy is a public document intended to make the principles adopted by the library for the composition of its collection known to all users.” (in Calenge, B. Les politiques d’acquisition. Paris : Ed. du Cercle de la libraire, 1994). |
