Secretary of the Board of Governors, Senior advisor to the rectorate acting as Secretary General

The principal role of the secretary of the board of governors is to integrate the concept and the functioning of the Board into the university and at the same time create a link between and assure coherence with the Board and the rectorate. This is an endeavour of closely working together between the rectorate and the members of the board of governors. The main tasks of the secretary consist in

• the elaboration and the management of the agendas of the meetings in close collaboration with the Chairman of the Board and the rector
• the preparation and the examination of the topics to be discussed at the meetings
• the management of the agendas of the meetings of the Board which is closely linked to the agendas of the meetings of the University Council of which Mr Poos is also the secretary
• the processing and the communication of the decisions taken by the Board, I e to assure the follow up and keep the memory
• the writing of the report for each meeting of the Board
• the relations between the Chairman and the members.

The main tasks of the senior advisor to the rectorate acting as secretary general are:

• the management of the meetings of the rectorate, the rectorate with the deans and of the University Council (organization of the calendar, the agendas, the communication of information, the follow up and the recording of decisions
• the development of and implementation responsibility of multilingualism within the university
• the collaboration and relations with secondary schools
• the representation of the university within the EUA (European Universities Association) and other university associations
