Following its participation in the European Commission call for proposals in 2017, the University of Luxembourg was selected as a partner to run a Europe Direct Information Centre (EDIC) for the period 2018-2020.

The Europe Direct network was set up in 2005 to contribute to the overall communication efforts and transparency of the European Commission and to bring citizens closer to the European Union by providing a general information service, with more than 500 contact points all over Europe.

The agreement establishing EDIC University of Luxembourg was signed on 28 March 2019 by Prof. Dr Stéphane Pallage, Rector of the University, and Yuriko Backes, Head of the European Commission Representation in Luxembourg.
