What are the COVID-19 rules and guidelines at the University?

We ask all participants to the 2020 Welcome Day to respect the following general safety rules:

Basic barrier gestures and safety measures

  • Stay at home if you do not feel well or if you show any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Wash your hands with soap regularly during the day, particularly before and after meals. Disinfect your hands regularly with hydroalcoholic gel provided in the washrooms.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or into a disposable tissue.
  • Greet without shaking hands.
  • Covering your nose and mouth with a mask, scarf or bandana is mandatory in Luxembourg in places where a distance of two (2) metres cannot be respected. At the University, masks, scarfs or bandanas are mandatory in common spaces as well as in every situation where a minimum of two (2) metres distance cannot be respected.

Social distancing

  • Keep a distance of at least two (2) metres at all times.
  • Inside a building and if a distance of two (2) metres cannot be respected, the wearing of masks or scarves that effectively cover the nose and mouth is compulsory.
  • You need to sit down for lunch.

Given the social distancing rules will I have enough time to visit all services/institutions on Belval Campus and receive all information in one day?

In case you did not have enough time to gather all information on Welcome Day, all services and activities offered by the University of Luxembourg will have a booth from 14 to 25 September in the Foyer of the Maison du Savoir.

How will the University make sure that all safety and sanitary measures are respected during lunch ?

At the Check-in desk, the new students will receive either a red, blue or white wristband. To each colour, one specific lunch location is allocated. You will have to go to the location designated to your wrist-band colour to order your lunch. Each location has enough seats so that the safety and sanitary rules are respected at all times. You will need to remain seated during your meal.

Do I need to bring my own hydroalcoholic gel?

Hydroalcoholic gel will be available at the entrance of each University building and at the counters of each food truck. You are required to use it before entering any building or before ordering your lunch.

Will the auditorium be disinfected after each welcome session?

Will the restrooms be accessible and will they be disinfected on a regular basis?

What should I do when I start to feel unwell during the Welcome Day?
