Amazon and the University of Luxembourg have signed a five-year agreement to support thesis research projects at the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL) of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance for students within the Master of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) programme.

Research projects will be co-directed by LCL teaching staff and in-house Amazon supervisors, and outcomes will be shared with Amazon. The focus of the research will be determined and agreed on an annual basis, with the first year based on selecting and analysing market trends and/or general problematics around supply chain management.

Amazon is an established LCL partner with early participation in and support of the LCL “CPO Club” (Chief Procurement Officer Club), culminating in the establishment of a Chair in Digital Procurement and a new Digital Procurement track within the LSCM programme at the University of Luxembourg in 2021. Amazon is also a pioneer member of the “LCL Circle”, a privileged network of partners.

“The LCL has a long-standing tradition of partnering with companies in Luxembourg and beyond to provide research opportunities to our Master students. For our students, this means a chance to work with exclusive real-world datasets and provide actionable solutions for supply chain and logistics issues faced by industry actors,” commented Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance, Prof. Katalin Ligeti. “On behalf of my LCL colleagues and our incoming and future LSCM Master cohorts, I thank Amazon for their commitment to developing Logistics and Supply Chain talent here in Luxembourg.”
