European Banking Center Network
The European Banking Center (EBC) Network, which is an ongoing project between the universities of Lancaster, Luxembourg and Tilburg, regularly discusses topics in banking, financial regulation and financial stability.
The conference is hosted annually in different locations, and welcomes a dozen presentations of the latest research in the field, including sessions on stress tests, banking supervision, bank lending, bailouts, payment technologies, and more. Recently, the EBC Network launched its annual workshop series, too.
The Luxembourg School of Finance has been actively involved in this network. Below you find an overview of the EBC events that our School has been organising so far.

| Academics and financial institutions meet for EBC Network Conference The European Banking Center (EBC) Network – a project between the universities of Lancaster, Luxembourg and Tilburg – met for its 10th annual conference at the end of March, discussing topics in banking, financial regulation and financial stability. The conference was hosted in cooperation with the UK-based Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and welcomed a dozen presentations of the latest research in the field, including sessions on stress tests, banking supervision, bank lending, bailouts, payment technologies, and more. Researchers from top universities and institutes across Europe, South America and the United States of America joined the event alongside practitioners from the European Central Bank, the Bank of Italy and the Bank of Portugal. “We’re very happy to be part of the EBC Network and to organize the 10th annual conference here in Luxembourg,” commented the local organisers, Prof. Thorsten Lehnert and Prof. Christian Wolff. “The network was founded with the aim to stimulate and disseminate banking research. The members of the EBC Network complement each other well, with diverse interests in banking research. Financial institutions are a central pillar of the research we do here at the Uni.lu Luxembourg School of Finance.” By bringing academics and financial institutions together, the network hopes to address key issues facing the industry. “We were able to discuss numerous important topics at the conference this year. The exchange with our partners will be ongoing to further research in this area,” commented Prof. Lehnert and Prof. Wolff. Program: 10th EBC Network Conference
