Alexander Hübner joins LCL as associate professor

The Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management is growing its team with the addition of Alexander Hübner as an associate professor.

Associate Prof. Hübner joined the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL) in April. His research focuses on decision-support models for supply chain management, retail and health care operations as well as the general application of operations management models and methods to real-world problems. Additionally, his research looks into topics at the interface to other business functions, such as strategic or marketing and sales planning. His work has been published in leading academic journals, such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Science and the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management.

Prior to joining the LCL, Associate Prof. Hübner was a Junior Professor of Operations Management at the Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Germany, from where he also received his PhD. He previously worked as a consultant and project manager for McKinsey & Company for six years. Additionally, he was a member of the Supply Chain Management and Consumer Goods Practice as well as having been involved in numerous consulting projects on supply chain optimisation with various companies from different industries, including the consumer goods, retailing, automotive, pharmaceutical, and financial industry. Furthermore, Associate Prof. Hübner worked as operations planner in the processing industry over three years and gained experiences in automotive industries through internships at leading OEMs and suppliers.
