FDEF students win Award at the Tax Law Moot Court Competition

From 26 to 31 March 2023, the University of Luxembourg’s Tax Law Moot Court team successfully participated at the 2022–2023 International and European Tax Law Moot Court competition, which took place at KU Leuven, in Belgium.

Coached by Doctoral researcher Alexandros Politis, the team consisting of LL.M. students Melissa Schmitz, Esther Lau, Katerina Dimitrova and Shanil Needhoo qualified for the oral rounds, to which only the best 14 out of 26 teams are selected.

The Uni.lu Tax Law Moot Court team delivered a great performance and was honoured with the Prize for the Best Applicant Memorandum granted to Melissa Schmitz and Katerina Dimitrova.

About the International and European Tax Law Moot Court

The International and European Tax Law Moot Court competition is organised by the Institute of Tax Law of KU Leuven and the IFB in cooperation with Deloitte. Participants will receive feedback on their memoranda from professors, judges and lawyers with a worldwide reputation in taxation. During one week the moot court teams will participate in an intense sharing of knowledge and experience and forge contacts in an international academic community.
