Prof. Prüm receives order of merit for service to HRH The Grand Duke

Prof. André Prüm, full professor in law and founding Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg, has received the Order of Civil and Military Merit of Adolph of Nassau (L’ordre de Mérite civil et militaire d’Adolphe de Nassau) with the grade of Officer of the Crown (Officier avec couronne) for his service to H.R.H. The Grand Duke, the Grand-Ducal House and Luxembourg.

In March 2020, Prof. Prüm, along with financial expert Mr. Norbert Becker were appointed as Special Advisors to the Grand Ducal Court in the interim period during the search for a successor to the former Maréchal de la Cour. During this time, Prof. Prüm and Mr. Becker oversaw the administration of the court, supported The Grand Duke in his functions and served in the discussions with the Prime Minister. It is for this service that both Prof. Prüm and Mr. Becker were conferred the order of merit.

Since Mrs. Yuriko Backes took up her duties as Maréchal de la Cour in June 2020, Prof. Prüm continues to advise H.R.H. the Grand Duke, The Hereditary Grand Duke and the Grand Ducal Family on both personal and state legal matters, including questions regarding the modernisation of the Luxembourg constitution. Mr. Becker, who has been appointed President of the Administration of the Crown’s assets and Prof. Prüm work in close cooperation.
