From 17 to 21 April 2023, the Space Law Moot Court team composed of Liisa Paats and Yazmin Lorena Gómez Guerrero participated in the European Rounds of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition (MLMC) organised by the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) at the University of Jaen, Spain.

Coordinated by the European Centre of Space Law (ECSL), these Regional Rounds of the competition brought together 12 teams from across Europe to address important issues of space law.

Coached by Doctoral researcher Laetitia Cesari and Student assistant Theodora Liameti, the two LL.M. students of the University of Luxembourg have demonstrated exceptional growth and development in their legal skills. By connecting with professionals and fellow students from various European countries, the Uni.lu MLMC team expanded their network and forged valuable relationships that will undoubtedly prove beneficial in the future.

The MLMC team has been trained by the SES Chair of the FDEF since the beginning of the 2022–2023 academic year and benefited from our partnership with Clifford Chance to prepare for their competition. The Clifford Chance lawyers helped our team to develop argumentation and public speaking skills, giving them valuable advice based on their professional experience.
