Afroditi Marketou is postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Law since 2020. She assists Joana Mendes in the coordination of the doctoral research programme on Enforcement in Multi-level Regulatory Systems, funded by the FNR, and she works individually on her project on the local meanings of EU law. She holds a PhD from the European University Institute and a Master’s degree in Public Law from University Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne. She has taught courses in public law, comparative law and European law in Sciences Po Paris, University Toulouse I (ATER) and Aix-Marseille University. Her monograph, Local Meanings of Proportionality, is forthcoming with Cambridge University Press in 2021. Her research interests lie in public and European law and include the interplay between domestic and European legal systems, the reception of legal transfers, the local meanings of Europeanisation and globalisation, as well as the study of legal cultures from an anthropological perspective.
