Joëlle Vlassis is associated professor in mathematics education. Her main research interests are in the field of arithmetic and algebra (students from 3 to 14 years old), as well as in issues related to the transition from preschool to primary and from primary to secondary school in these domains. As a primary teacher with several years of experience, she is particularly interested in professional development programmes for teachers. Her work is based on qualitative research methodologies such as collaborative or action research.
