Amalia Gilodi is a PhD candidate in Psychology and a Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Geography and Special Planning of the University of Luxembourg. She collaborates with the H2020 project MIMY - EMpowerment through liquid Integration of Migrant Youth in vulnerable conditions. Amalia’s contribution to MIMY includes qualitative research activities in the MIMY’s case studies in Luxembourg as well as scientific coordination and dissemination activities as part of MIMY’s management team, communication committee and Migrant Youth research and policy Network taskforce. Within the framework of MIMY, her PhD project focuses on understandings, experiences and negotiations of Vulnerability in the context of migrant youth integration.
Amalia comes from an interdisciplinary background, with a Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Padua (Italy) a Master in Interdisciplinary Migration Studies and one in Cultural Anthropology from Utrecht University (The Netherlands). Her previous work experience includes a traineeship at the Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography of the European Commission. Overall, her research interests revolve around migrants and refugees integration, vulnerability, psychosocial well-being of marginalized groups, migrant-centered and participatory action research and inter-ethnic relations.
