On Friday, 11 September, the University of Luxembourg will host the Welcome Day for all new students from 11.00 to 15.00 on Belval Campus.

Starting life on campus can be as exciting as intimidating for new students. Even more so in sight of the current ongoing global health crisis. The Welcome Day gives new students the opportunity to discover the campus and helps them settle into their new environment.

This year, the University has put in place particular safety rules and procedures to ensure an enjoyable and safe Welcome Day for all participants. The number of guests is limited to new students only and prior registration is mandatory. The programme of the Welcome Day has also been adapted to accommodate the safety regulations.

Virtual welcome speeches and introduction to student life

Welcome speeches and an introduction to student life will be held virtually. Messages by the rector of the University, Stéphane Pallage, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Catherine Léglu, and Head of the Department of Studies and Student Life (SEVE), Stefanie Knill, will be available online.

Watch the videos as of 10 September at welcomeday.uni.lu.

Information stands on student services

A selection of student services will be physically present at the Welcome Day on Belval Campus, including Admission & Accommodation, Student Services, Student IT Helpdesk and Campus Radio (by Radio ARA).

Other services will have information stands in Belval during the two weeks following the Welcome Day. Please check the schedule on welcomeday.uni.lu to see when each service will be present.

Free lunch and drinks for new students

The University offers free lunch and drinks to new students during the Welcome Day from 11.00 to 15.00 in three different locations across Belval Campus. The locations are prepared to meet the necessary safety requirements.

Students may discover the campus by themselves and visit the different student areas at any time. The Maison du Savoir, the library (Luxembourg Learning Centre LLC), the Maison des Arts et des Étudiants (MAE) are open all day.

Please note that masks are mandatory during this event, except when seated in the lunch area.
