On the Welcome Day you can explore the campus by yourself, enjoy a seated lunch (Food Trucks) for the new students ONLY. Please find the programme on the dedicated page.

What are the COVID-19 rules and guidelines at the University?

We ask all participants of the Welcome Day to respect the following general safety rules:

Basic barrier gestures and safety measures

  • Stay at home if you do not feel well or if you show any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Wash your hands with soap regularly during the day, particularly before and after meals. Disinfect your hands regularly with hydroalcoholic gel provided all over campus.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or into a disposable tissue.
  • Greet without shaking hands.
  • Covering your nose and mouth with a mask, scarf or bandana is mandatory at all times during the event.

Social distancing

  • Keep a distance of at least two (2) metres at all times.
  • You need to sit down for lunch.

What should I do when I start to feel unwell during the Welcome Day?

Please address a safety officer from Dussmann Security. They will inform you on the next steps.

Do I need to wear a mask?

Yes, you are required to wear a mask for the entire duration of your campus visit. You can take off the mask while seated during your meal at lunch.

Will the University provide me with a mask?

No, each visitor is required to bring their own mask.

Do I need to bring my own hydroalcoholic gel?

Hydroalcoholic gel will be available at the entrance of each University building and at the food locations. You are required to use it before entering any building or before ordering your lunch.

Will the restrooms be accessible and will they be disinfected on a regular basis?

Yes, our staff will disinfect the restrooms regularly during the day with appropriate cleaning products.

Given the social distancing rules, will I be able to visit all services/institutions on Belval Campus and receive all information in one day?

To ensure social distancing, the number of information stands in the Halle des Poches à Fonte had to be reduced. Apart from the few stands on site on the Welcome Day itself, the different services that will not be present that day will be on campus to meet you during a dedicated time slot within the two weeks after the Welcome Day in the Foyer of the Maison du Savoir.

Promotional and information material of all stands as well as the schedule on when you will be able to meet which service in person can be found on the dedicated page for the Virtual Information Fair.

Do I need to register for the event or can I simply come to Belval Campus on 11 September?

It is mandatory that you register in advance (until 6 September) for the Welcome Day and let us know whether you’ll join our free lunch.
