Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

What do you like most in MEI?

The global nature of the course – we were 29 students from 20 nationalities from all over the world coming from different educational/cultural backgrounds. Similarly the Professors were visiting from different parts of the world. Not only did we learn the subjects taught in class but alot from each others experiences. There were students who had just completed their Bachelor studies and also those who had more than 12 years of work experience - it was a pleasure to see diverse perspectives on a topic and to work together on assignments.

Why did you choose the University of Luxembourg for performing your master studies?

I had moved to Luxembourg because of my husband's job and I saw this as a great opportunity to take a  break from my career and get back into academics. The course was offered in English and the new University was offering a very interesting program. Although I already have a Master in Science  in Information Technology, the MEI offered more than a typical Master of Business Administration program which I had thought of doing at some point in my life – so I went for it and am very happy with my decision!

Which specialization did you choose? Why?

There was no specialization offered for my batch at MEI 3 – it just had a general track. However, from the year after, there has been an introduction of 2 more tracks – biotechnology and ICT (Information Communication and Technology). During the program, I had done internship for thesis at the Biobank in Luxembourg and technology is definitely a focus area around the world, so the evolution of tracks is a very good step. I had the pleasure of teaching the students in the ICT track last year and received positive feedback about the offerings.

How do you finance your studies?

I self-financed my studies but the internship paid a stipend that more than covered the fees.

Which hobbies do you practice in Luxembourg?

I play sports – badminton, tennis, swimming, ice staking and hiking. Luxembourg caters to all tastes and has opportunities for most activities/hobbies that you want to pursue.

Will you stay in Luxembourg?

Yes, I would like to stay in Luxembourg. It is a nice country and very conducive for professionals. The large number of expatriates proves the open mindset of the people here. It is also a great place for raising kids.

Which advices could you give new students?

Join the program with an open mind and participate whole-heartedly to get the most from it. Be proactive and focused on the objectives you set out for yourself to achieve success in the program. The staff and Professors in the program are very helpful and approachable. They work hard to make the transition for you as smooth as possible.
