Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

What do you like most about Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation?
There were several interesting things in this master, but the one I appreciated the most was the diversity of the class. Indeed, having people coming from different countries, different ages and experiences was very valuable. Also, the fact that a lot of assignments have to be done in group gave us the opportunity to learn from each other as well as get acquainted.

Why did you choose the University of Luxembourg to study your Master in?
The contents of the program and the possibility to do the thesis within a company was very interesting for me. Besides that, I considered that being a student in a young and dynamic university was a good experience. Last but not least, as I was interested in working in Luxembourg, I thought it would be advantageous for me to study there.

Which hobbies do you practice in Luxembourg?
One of the main advantages of Luxembourg is its position, so travelling around can be a nice hobby. The country also has nice areas for nature lovers.

Which specialization did you choose? Why?
Once I started this program, there was no specialization as such. It was a mixture of several disciplines (entrepreneurship, marketing, finance…), which were quite well-balanced and valuable, especially for me who had a technical background.

What is your master thesis about?
I did my thesis in collaboration with a laboratory which is working on solar cell technology. The objective was to determine the cost of the technologies they were working on, what are the thresholds to overcome to make this technology viable and how it would fit in the market compared to the current alternative.

Will you stay in Luxembourg?
Yes, I think Luxembourg is a nice place to work.

What advice could you give to new students?
I would suggest to use the advantage of having a human-sized classroom to work together, share experience, do extra school activities.
Another piece of advice would be to develop during the year an idea of a business you would like to start. Indeed, through the program, you will have the opportunity to meet people who can give you very helpful tips.
Define your expectations well, so you can get the most out of your mentor company and the subjects studied. Define your needs well and use the resources around you to achieve them.
