Master en Enseignement Secondaire - Germanistik

The Master en Enseignement Secondaire consists of three main pillars:

• Pillar I: Professional subject knowledge
• Pillar II: Didactic professional knowledge
• Pillar III: General professional knowledge

The programme is accompanied by two three-week teaching practices with preparatory and follow-up workshops and is completed by a Master's thesis.

In the track Germanistik, the ECTS points are distributed as follows:

During each semester, courses are offered for all modules in the areas of subject-specific professional knowledge and didactic professional knowledge; the courses in the area of general professional knowledge are distributed over the semesters as shown in the following diagramme.

In the module "Individual Focus", two courses from the modules "Modern German Literature", "Linguistics" and "Medieval Studies" or courses specifically allocated to this module can be taken.

In addition to subject-specific professional knowledge and didactic professional knowledge, the courses in the area of general professional knowledge systematically teach educational science, educational psychology and general didactic knowledge on the topics of multilingualism and heterogeneity, as well as conveying knowledge of the research field of schools and teaching and learning in a social context.

On the other hand, the workshops accompanying the internship are located in this area, which prepares and ensures the transfer from theory to practice.
