Master en Développement Durable
Objectives:
The program combines teaching of a technical nature with courses geared towards the natural and human sciences. The aim is to :
- Provide the elements necessary for the multidisciplinary and global approach required for the understanding of environmental problems and possible solution by sustainable development.
- Understand typical pollution scenarios of air, water and soil and the state-of-the-art solutions.
- Have some knowledge of today’s legal, political and economic requirements.
- Develop an awareness of energetic characteristics for real estate and traffic.
Learning Outcomes:
- Prove mastery of environmental sciences and energetic efficiency for different building categories (e.g. detached houses, apartments, schools, offices).
- Analyze problems of related fields, as for e.g., pollution, noise, transport, nature conversation, biodiversity, resources, traffic, plan and propose strategies and methods for their solution.
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of the multidisciplinary nature of the problems including possible contradictions and solutions of environmental and energetic issues.
- Apply a wide repertoire of concepts, methods and modern technologies to real-life problems arising in many technological projects.
- Communicate legal information and specifications accurately and efficiently to external partners, to students or to the public as well as to an expert audience, thus proving excellent knowledge in environmental sciences.
- Work independently, as well as in a team, and function professionally.
- Ability to work in international team environments.
- Become responsible actors in society who in particular understand the social and ethical consequences linked to their field and its application.
- Develop a willingness to take on leadership roles.
