CERATIZIT Group – Tooling the Future

For over 95 years, CERATIZIT has been a pioneer developing exceptional hard material products. The privately owned company, based in Mamer, Luxembourg, develops and manufactures highly specialised carbide cutting tools, inserts and rods made of hard materials as well as wear parts. The CERATIZIT Group is the market leader in several wear part application areas, and successfully develops new types of carbide, cermet and ceramic grades which are used for instance in the wood and stone working industry.

As a leader in materials technology, CERATIZIT continuously invests in R&D and holds over 600 patents. Innovative carbide solutions from CERATIZIT are used in mechanical engineering and tool construction and many other industries including the automotive, aerospace, oil and medical sectors.

With more than 1,400 employees and a brand-new state-of-the-art R&D facility, the 3 production sites in Luxembourg play the leading role within the CERATIZIT Group.

Goodyear Luxembourg: An integrated industrial complex

Goodyear in Colmar-Berg is an integrated industrial complex which is complemented by various plants and installations. It is Goodyear’s most diversified complex outside the United States. The main part of the complex is the Tire Plant, which started in 1951. Today, it has become a European production and distribution centre for truck and earthmover tires.

The Goodyear Mold Plant manufactures aluminium and steel molds for the vulcanization presses. Synthetic fabric is reinforced in the Regional Calendaring Centre. Both units deliver their products to the European tire plants of the group.

In order to be able to offer high-quality products, in-depth research and development is necessary. For this purpose the Goodyear Innovation Centre Luxembourg (GIC*L) was set up in 1957. Together with the GIC*A (Akron), it spearheads Goodyear’s research and development throughout the world.

With approximately 3,100 associates, Goodyear is today the number two industrial employer in Luxembourg.
