The European University Institute in Florence, Italy, invites applications for fully-funded four-year PhD programmes in Economics, History and Civilization, Law or Political and Social Sciences.

The European University Institute (EUI) is an international centre for doctorate and post-doctorate studies and research, situated in the Tuscan hills overlooking Florence.

Since its establishment 40 years ago by the six founding members of the then European Communities, the EUI has earned a reputation as a leading international academic institution with a European focus. The four departments – Economics, History and Civilization, Law, and Political and Social Sciences – host scholars from more than 60 countries, studying for the Institution’s doctorate or the one-year master in law.

Each year approximately 150 scholarships for PhD studies are available, provided by EUI member states and associated member states. This year, two scholarships are earmarked for Luxembourg.

The application deadline is 31^st January 2016. A webinar where potential candidates can ask their questions will take place on 23rd November.
