Published on Thursday, 15 June 2017
Last week, our Vice-President for Research and acting President, Prof. Ludwig Neyses welcomed the President of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, Prof. Bertil Andersson, accompanied by Ms. Jenny Hällen-Hedberg, Director of the Office of International Affairs at NTU. The purpose of the visit was to discuss current and future collaboration between the two universities. The University of Luxembourg and NTU signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Student Exchange agreement in March 2016. The agreement foresees exchanges of students and staff, as well as joint research activities. Just as the University of Luxembourg, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is a young institution, founded in 1991, but already belongs to the best universities in Asia. It has been ranked 3rd in the 2017 Times Higher Young Universities ranking (while the University of Luxembourg is n°11 in the same ranking) and is ranked 54th in the Times Higher Education World Universities ranking. NTU has colleges of Engineering, Business, Science, Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, and an Interdisciplinary Graduate School. It also has a medical school, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, set up jointly with Imperial College London. It currently counts around 33.000 students. |
