Mobility is a real winning asset for students. By living and studying abroad and coming into contact with another academic culture, students are inevitably put in a situation that enables them to question and assess their personal choices, ways of thinking and of approaching their studies.

You are a Bachelor or Master student at the University of Luxembourg

The University of Luxembourg supports the principle of international mobility for students, as laid down in the 1999 Bologna Declaration.

The Act of 27 June 2018 concerning the organisation of the University of Luxembourg implements this principle: “A Bachelor’s degree may only be awarded if the student enrolled at the University has taken courses equivalent to at least 30 ECTS credits at a higher education institution abroad which is recognised by the relevant authorities in that country.”
This means that students enrolled on a Bachelor programme must complete a semester of study at an institution abroad to validate their studies and obtain a degree from the University of Luxembourg.

The ECTS earned abroad are recognised by the programme director on the basis of a previously signed learning agreement.

The study semester abroad is not compulsory for Master students but most of our Master programmes offer the possibility to go abroad as well.

It is also possible to do a traineeship abroad within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, but this will not be taken into account as a compulsory mobility.
