Publication - 70th Anniversary of the Schuman Declaration

This original book with a pressrun of 1000 copies, which will be of interest to people from all walks of life, opens with a preface by Madam Yuriko Backes, European Commission representative in Luxembourg, before exploring the historical significance of the Schuman Declaration, its echoes in the present day,  and also Robert Schuman’s links with Luxembourg and the role played by the country and its key personalities in the European integration process. A separate section presents the Robert Schuman House in Clausen, managed by the University since 2016, where the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) is planning to host a variety of outstanding academic and public events.

The Publications Office of the European Union is currently disseminating the French version and preparing English and German versions for wider circulation among the 27 Member States of the European Union. Copyright is held jointly by the European Union and the University of Luxembourg.

The Europe Direct Information Centre at the University of Luxembourg (EDIC) is the outcome of the successful participation of the University in a multiannual competitive programme of the European Commission (2018-2020). Based in the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC) EDIC is coordinated by the C² DH and carried out by a team composed by Elena Danescu and Joana da Silva.
