The Guillaume Dupaix International Scholarship
The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs funds a talent support programme. The Guillaume Dupaix International Master’s Scholarship aims at attracting high-performing third country national Master students applying to master programmes at the University of Luxembourg’s, Faculty of Sciences, Technology and Medicine.
Eligibility criteria
- Third country national master applicants
- High academic achievements at Bachelor studies
- Applying to the following master programmes:
- Master of Science in Physics
- Master Saar-Lor-Lux-Gre in Physics
- Master en Développement Durable
- Master of Science in Civil Engineering- Megastructure Engineering with Sustainable Resources
- Master of Science in Engineering – Sustainable Product Creation
- Master in Integrated Systems Biology
- International Master of Science in Biomedicine
- Master in Information and Computer Sciences
- Interdisciplinary Space Master
Application procedure

- Personal statement/motivation letter (PDF)
- Two letters of recommendation, with full contact details (academic) (PDF)
Selection
Applications will be assessed by the programme directors of the respective Master programmes.
Laureates are chosen based on:
- Academic achievement
- Originality of the personal statement and motivation for applying
The application procedure for acceptance into the relevant Master programme is separate to this Scholarship. Candidates are invited to visit the relevant master application webpage for deadlines.
Selection procedure
Applications will be evaluated by the course directors of the respective Master programmes. Applicants will be informed by email of their results in due time.
Allocation of Scholarship
The Scholarship is aimed at financially supporting outstanding international Master students, allowing them to focus on their academic and relevant extracurricular work.
The stipend amounts to 500EUR per month, and is paid in two instalments per academic year at the beginning of each semester for a maximum of 2 years.
Payment is subject to a performance assessment and can be withheld, for example in case of academic misconduct, poor results or withdrawal from the Master programme.
In addition, the scholarship provides free accommodation in a student residence hall for the duration of the master programme at a cost of up to 650EUR/month for a maximum of two years.
Detailed terms and conditions are set out in the acceptance letter by the University of Luxembourg. Laureates will sign a Scholarship Agreement, including a declaration of honor in acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Guillaume Dupaix Master’s Scholarship.
Deadline: Applicants are being screened on a rolling basis.
The Scholarship cannot be combined with any other type of grant funded by the Luxembourg government.

The Guardian Europe Scholarship
Guardian Europe funds an international talent support programme. The Guardian Europe Scholarship aims at attracting high-preforming international students applying to master programmes at the University of Luxembourg’s, Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine.
Eligibility criteria
- International master applicants outside the cross-border area of the Greater Region
- High academic achievements at Bachelor studies
- Applying to the following master programmes:
Master en Développement Durable
Master of Science in Civil Engineering- Megastructure Engineering with Sustainable Resources
Master of Science in Engineering – Sustainable Product Creation
Master en Sciences de l'Ingénieur - Efficacité Energétique et Economique

Applications will be evaluated by the course directors of the respective Master programmes. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview. Applicants will be informed by email of their results in due time.
Allocation of Scholarship
The Scholarship amounts to a total of 20.000EUR and is aimed at financially supporting outstanding international Master students, allowing them to focus on their academic and relevant extracurricular work.
The stipend is paid in four instalments (€6,000 at the beginning of each Winter semester, followed by a second instalment of €4,000 at the beginning of each Summer semester per academic year) for the regular duration of study, for a maximum of two years. Payment is subject to a performance assessment each semester and can be withheld in case of poor academic results, academic misconduct, or withdrawal from the Master programme.
The Scholarship cannot be combined with any other type of grant funded by the Luxembourg government.
Detailed terms and conditions are set out in the acceptance letter by the University of Luxembourg. Laureates will sign a Scholarship Agreement, including a declaration of honor in acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Guardian Europe Scholarship.
