Ioannis Asimakopoulos is a PhD candidate in EU Banking and Financial Law under the supervision of Prof. Pierre-Henri Conac writing his thesis on the enforcement of bank resolution on retail investors. He has a law and economics background with studies at Cambridge University (MCL 2016), Athens University of Economics and Business (MSc 2016) and Democritus University of Thrace (LLB 2014). He is a registered lawyer with the Athens Bar Association and has worked in the past with the EU delegation to the WTO in Geneva (2016) and the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg (2018). Ioannis has also worked as a Lecturer at the Cambridge Summer Institute, and a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Luxembourg (Febr. 2017- Oct. 2019). Currently, Ioannis is working as a Bank Resolution Expert at Single Resolution Board in Brussels.
