Professor Emeritus, Prof., Dr. phil. (PhD), Dipl.SpL, MSch.mult.

Professor Dr. Werner Becker graduated in his studies to become a Primary, Secondary School Teacher and also received a diploma in Physical Education and Educational Sciences at Saarland University and Saarland Education University. 
Furthermore he obtained his PhD (Dr. phil.) in Educational Sciences, Romanic Linguistics and Physical Education from the University Koblenz-Landau. He received his professorial qualification (Habilitation – “Direction des recherches”) with the authorization to grant doctoral degrees from the University of Luxembourg. 
Moreover he held lectureships for the Saarlandian College of Education and the Saarland University. He worked as a Senior Adjunct Professor (Leadership), as Senior Guest- and Honorary Professor for the Educational Universities of Bremen, Heidelberg, Koblenz-Landau, Osnabruck, Patras, Vilnius and the College of Education in Vienna. Further Professorships he holds in Educational Sciences & Sports Pedagogy for the I.S.E.R.P. de Luxembourg and in Educational Sciences and Sports Pedagogy at the University of Luxemburg.

He was Director für the international relation programs Leonardo, Erasmus and lead the Interreg-Iva Program for teacher learning (Universities of Liège, Luxembourg, Nancy-Metz, Sarrebruck), was Director of the „concours d’admission“ and Director for „prevention, regeneration & rehabilitation“ of  the Campus-Program. The University of Luxembourg gained the „Prix de la santé en entreprises“ in Luxembourg for a complete quality public health management.

He had the scientific direction of the project „Campus Belval Transversal“, an interdisciplinary-social-integrative center. He was also nominated as scientific expert of the University of Luxembourg.

After his official career he was nominated as Senior-Professor at the University of Luxembourg.

He is now Professor Emeritus distinguished for Educational Sciences & Pedagogy of Prevention at the University of Luxembourg.

Distinctions honorifiques au Luxembourg:

Nomination Grand-Ducale par le décret de Jean le Duc, Duc de Nassau (1964 – 2000) et sur le rapport du Ministre de l’Éducation Nationale et de la Formation Professionelle, Mme. Hennicot Schoepges et après la délibération du Gouvernement en conseil. Nostrification luxembourgeoise en 1996.

Remise du Prix de la Santé en entreprise à la base d’un compendium „Prévention, Régénération, Réhabilitation“ pour l’Université du Luxembourg et le directeur du Campus-Sport par le Ministre de la Santé, Monsieur Mars de Bartolomeo à Bad Mondorf-les-Bains en 2010.

Forum Belval Transversal: Projection de l’infrastructure globale pour l’Université du Luxembourg et des institutions nationales correspondantes avec l’organigramme des 7 centres de compétences par des capacités intellectuelles, culturelles et sportives, spécialement pour le fondement scientifique, l’organisation, les contenus, les suppositions, les intentions, la qualité du curriculum et de l’enseignement, la qualité des personnes enseignantes, l`évaluation, la supervision et la direction de la coordination globale en 2018.

Distinction honorifique en France:

Distinction „Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes académiques par le Premier Ministre de la République Francaise et le Ministre de l’Éducation Nationale et de la Jeunesse“ (décret en date du 05. Juillet 2019). Remise des insignes par la Consule Générale de la France en Sarre, Mme. Cathérine Robinet, le 28. février 2020 dans l’Université Franco-Allemande, Villa Europa, à la Salle Rotonde.
